Career Guidance Event @ APSW Residential School - Chilkoor

It is my privilege to write the Success note of Career Guidance event @ APSW Residential School - Chilkoor. With this event, we reached an another account in the BSG - Hyderabad chapter.

 In this school, we conducted a workshop on career for 9th class,10th class and intermediate students. After we finished the workshop, we all interacted with principal sir and staff. Principal sir enquired about the status of the students from each volunteer. He said - This kind of programs are much needed to the students. Also he pointed that all students belongs to poor families from socio - economically backward villages in Rangareddy district. And these students deserved for this type of programs in helping there careers.

Mr. Ranga Reddy sir, Principal of APSW Residential School announced in the Assembly (Prayer ) about the event and students also prepared. As we have planned, Our team reached at 9.30 am. We took some 10-15 min in the staff room in preparation for the career workshop. Also he introduced BSG Volunteers to the students.We classified entire workshop into 4 Sections for our convenient:

1. 1st year and 2nd year B.P.C into one Section
2. 1st year and 2nd year M.P.C into one section
3. 10th class into one section
4. 9th class into one section
   

Career Guidance Event @ ZPHS Ramsagaram

Again it was a good experience in conducting the event. The kind of encouragement we received is superb. ZPHS Ramsagaram  have more strength than ZPHS Tirumalapur. We have conducted the event for 100+ students.

It was a rainy day. We (I and Madhu) reached the school at 10:15AM in the morning. First the teachers  gave us only 1.5 hour for the event. Later they agreed to extend another half an hour. So we started the event at 10:30AM and finished at 12:45PM.

As usual we started with ice breaker, and continued it. This time we didn't forget to bring chocolates and also some pens. We were able to make them attentive by rewarding chocolates/pens for valid answers. With this we have successfully completed Gajwel chapter second event.

Career Guidance Event @ ZPHS Patancheru

Reaching 270 students in a single day is one of the biggest event  "Born to Serve Group" has ever undertaken. This was possible as many of us have turned up for the event, and volunteers were mixture of new joinees and our veterans Kalyan, Madhu, Srisailam.  At this outset, I welcome our new joinees Swetha, Ravinder, Abilash, Arun and Srikanth to the group. It was wonderful to have your services last Saturday.

We did the Carrer Guidance event in both English and Telugu medium Z.P.H.S Patencheru Schools.

Arun kumar, Rajasekhar handled 10th class and Madhu,Srikanth took care of 9th standard.

Srisailam was our back end, running to and fro between the schools ( both the Schools are about 1 KM apart) in arranging gifts, Choclates and cordinating with the faculty.  Congratulations Srisailam, you were bang on target in identifying the need, gearing up the volunteers and Organizing.

Event @ ZPHS Tirumalapur - 21 July 2012

It was a good experience for me with this event. I had a thought to participate in such an event since long time, but I couldn't attend due to several reasons. Finally I was able to make it through BSG dedicated team. I would like to thank & congratulate every one.

Coming to the event, we five members reached the school at around 1 PM on last Saturday and explained about our motto, the process & our approach to the Head master and teachers. They showed a lot of interest in the event. The event was started at sharp 2 PM and it went on till 4:30 PM. We were able to execute what ever we planned with in the time frame.

The students involved in this event were from 9th, 10th standards and few from 6th, 7th & 8th standards. Total  of around 90 students. We started the event with a small introduction & ice breaker. Students showed a lot of interest. The books from Nirmaan Org. helped us to explain in a smooth way. We didn't use any laptops, simply distributed the books to 10th class students and asked others to share from 10th students. We did explain them all available carrier options  and how to attain them as per their individual interest.

Event @ No.1 Hostel Vikarabad - 8 July 2012

We had conducted a career guidance event at No.1 Hostel, Vikarabad on 08th July' 2012. It was a very good experience for us and for students. Students felt very comfortable and got all their questions clarified from us.

The event started post lunch at 2 PM. Rajasekhar started the program with Ice Breaker session to make everyone feel comfortable and bring everyone's attention before the event starts. Then, we had an introduction session where all the students were asked to introduce themselves and their career aspirations.

Most of the students aspire to become Teacher, Police, Lawyer, Judge, Doctor etc.  We have spoken few inspirational quotes with examples to grab their attention and inspire them and focus them on their academics. We spoke about the importance of education in the current society and how the educated person is given respect. We gave them a scenario of what happens to them if they don't study. What difference can they make to their parents and family with their little effort in education. Students felt it very useful and few they were interestingly listening to our words.
